These MMORPG's are as much as a social thing as they are a game. Sure, games like Half Life, Unreal Tournament, etc have interaction with other people, but that interation is either you or them shooting one another. Will 4 stand alone games keep you interested for a full year? Another thing the MMORPG's add is the dynamic interaction with other people. At $50/game, that's only 4 stand alone games. An easier breakdown might be if you take an MMORPG which is $50 and has a monthly subscription of $15.00 and play it for a year. You could sit there and go buy stand alone games for $50 a shot and play them from beginning to end then go buy the next one, or, you could go get one of these MMORPG's, pay $50 for the game + first month and then $15.00/month and never have an "end" to the game because content is continually added. These games are constantly evolving and growing. It's not like you are sending in a monthly fee and getting nothing in return. You need to realize that these games which have a monthly fee provide so much more than the free games. I'm not paying a subriction free to play, what the hell do you think I am?
